Abstract: This topic take the Chinese and English languages, different understanding of the word "dragon" as a beginning, make a further research on the word "dragon" difference culture connotations and cultural, social, political, religious reasons. And use it as a breakthrough, the comparative study of animal words in Chinese and Western culture connotation is different. So that readers of the two languages and cultural environment have a full understanding, in order to learn English well and make better cross-cultural communication.
