摘要：本论文的主要研究目的是：通过收集和整理不同的英译本对书中人名的翻译，归纳总结出各个英译本对人名的主要翻译方法。笔者发现，《西游记》英译本里的人名翻译并不仅仅局限于采取音译、直译这两种简单直接的翻译方法，而是多种翻译方法并用，更加注重灵活性和多样性。

本论文的主要研究内容是；探究《西游记》英译本中人名的翻译特色。从翻译标准、语言文化、宗教文化等方面分析《西游记》英译本中人名的翻译特色。研究结果显示：在翻译神话小说里的人名时，我们应该着眼于语言文化、宗教思想文化等方面，采用最合理恰当的翻译方法，最大程度上地保留原文本中所独有的文化特色（人名文化）。与此同时，本论文希望通过对《西游记》英译本里人名的翻译研究，加深西方读者对中国人名文化的认识，促进西方读者对中华优秀传统文化的理解与认同。
