Abstract: This paper gives a brief analysis of the images in the English translation of Li Bai’s poems, with the purpose to show the different emotions contained in those images, through a brief analysis of the translation with the conclusion that image is the main component of poetry, and it is an important clue to understand a poetry and its poetic structure. When people start to read a poem, he or she should first know what the images stand for in the poem then he or she could understand what the poet has implied and have a realization of the poet’s feelings. The image itself is a world where the writer and the reader can communicate with each other by heart. By learning the images, people shall seek deep inside the poet’s heart, and an analysis of Li Bai’s poems will help the readers find out people’s esthetic tendency and study the unique literature during Tang and Song Dynasty.
