  作为冰山理论的代表作品之一，《白象似的群山》从偷听者的角度描写了在小火车站酒馆里一对情侣的对话。该小说在简练易懂的对话中体现了主人公丰富的内心世界；在简单故事情节中刻画细腻的人物。短短几千字的小说酣畅淋漓地展示了独特的叙事风格、极富象征意义的地理环境描绘和含蓄而戏剧性的情节描写，处处呈现了冰山理论在文本中的具体运用。
