一、教材内容分析
This unit is the fifth unit in the textbook Grade 9 Go for it. The topic of this unit is to talk about what materials are used to make daily necessities and where they are made. Students are required to learn and master the names of some daily necessities and the basic vocabulary of the materials , and to perceive the passive voice in the general present tense. Learn to use the passive voice proficiently and correctly to describe the manufacturing process of objects. Section A focuses on the structure and usage of the passive voice. The difficulty in teaching is to understand the function and meaning of the passive voice and the past participle of irregular verbs. Section B further consolidates and deepens the topic content of this unit on the basis of Section A, focusing on introducing the representative kites, sky lanterns, paper-cutting and Chinese clay art in traditional Chinese culture, and understanding the customs and culture related to traditional Chinese culture and art background, strengthen the self-confidence in the native culture, and further consolidate the target language structure of this unit --the passive voice. In Section B, the emphasis should be placed on how to gradually train students to use the verbs and the passive voice to introduce the characteristics of a certain thing. The content of the textbooks progresses from basic language knowledge to the application of comprehensive language knowledge, with a step-by-step life-oriented learning process to guide students to learn language in a purposeful way.

Grade Nine students have a certain foundation of English through the accumulation of previous learning and a clear English learning motivation. In terms of listening, most students can understand the paragraphs close to the normal speed of the familiar topic, obtain the main information and complete the corresponding listening tasks. In terms of oral expression, most students are able to provide information on simple topics, simply express their views and opinions, participate in discussions in group activities, communicate information with each other and cooperate to complete tasks. The teaching content of this unit is very close to the daily life, which can stimulate students’ interest and enthusiasm in learning English. Therefore, it pays attention to the dynamic generation of students in the communication in class, and creates situations so that students have something to say and are willing to cooperate and share. In this way can they make better use of the knowledge they have learned and achieve the purpose of using their language.
