The title of this unit is what’s the highest mountain in the world. This unit focuses on the relationship between human and nature. This unit explore two main topics , including mountain climbing and environmental protection. These topics are ofen discussed in student’s daily life .Therefore teachers can ask questions from students’ reality and enhance students’ interest in learning. Human and nature should live in harmony. This unit tells students how to handle this relationship.The display of beautiful scenery in teaching materials allows students to understand the be auty of the world and be willing to explore. This class can improve students’ English expression ability, meet the cognitive level of eighth grade students, and the difficulty of this class is moderate, so students can master the content of this class well in class. At the same time, through the learning of this unit, students will be able to master the comparative form and superlative form through the study of this unit.The setting of listening and speaking classes also enables students to master grammar skillfully in practical practice.

After a year’s study, the eighth grade students have grasped certain foundational skills of English, they have accumulated of vocabularys.They can well complete the discussion and express the task assigned by the teacher. Eighth grade students are willing to take part in interesting activities. Teachers can design some interesting slides. Eighth grade students have strong curiosity, so teachers can arrange some exploratory activities.Students always have difficulty in using grammar.Students speak actively and have great enthusiasm for learning in class,so they can arrange some communication activities. During talking with each other they will make mistakes in discussions and exchanges. Although the practical ability of grammar is not satisfactory, They are willing to express their views in class.Compared with the primary school students, their abstract thinking and cognitive abilities have developed significantly.The eighth grade students have just started to learn English, so teachers can set up some practice activities in line with students’ cognitive level in teaching. Too difficult and relatively simple activities are not conducive to students’ understanding of knowledge. Difficult exercises will discourage students’ enthusiasm, while simple exercises are not conducive to students’ deeper mastery of knowledge.
