一、教材内容分析
This unit is chose from Junior Middle School English Book for Grade Nine, Unit 2 I think that mooncakes are delicious!
This module mainly focuses on festivals, which try to attract students’ interests and further promote their personal reaction. Through textbook and teaching contents, students can master object clauses and exclamatory sentences to talk about their preferences and views on different cultural festivals. By using the object clauses and exclamatory sentences properly students can improve their English communicative skills. What’s more, this topic can also deepen students the knowledge about the varieties festivals, such as the Mid-autumn Festival. Meanwhile, students are cultivated positive attitudes to different festivals of Chinese and western culture. In this unit, five class periods are designed with some revision parts in class.
二、学习者特征分析
Although the students in Grade Nine have mastered the basic knowledge of English through their previous learning, there is still room for improvement. The students’ logical ability has initially developed. There is a big difference in learning ability between different students. In English class, high-level students are very active to participate. They have a strong willingness to speak English to others though they are afraid to make mistakes. Some low-level students dare not speak in class and lack interest in English learning because they think it is hard and boring. Therefore, they have difficulty in concentrating on English learning.
In order to motivate the class participation, some measures are going to be taken as follows. First of all, some interesting activities will be designed during the teaching process. Then more attention will be paid to students who are easily distracted. Last but not least, positive feedback will be given to students who are actively involved.
