摘要：颜色词是语言系统中很特殊的一员，它除了描述物体客观的颜色外，还因其受所在的民族文化、社会环境、风俗习惯、宗教信仰等影响而富有丰富的文化内涵。因此，国内外的学者热衷于研究颜色词所蕴含的文化含义，诸如此类的文献也渐渐多了起来。所以本篇文章对英语中颜色词的文化内涵及其在习语中的体现进行研究和分析，期望从中能探析一个民族的文化变迁和时代对其的影响。

论文由五部分组成，开始先介绍其研究的意义和背景，对前人所做的研究成果进行了概括总结，然后主体部分就常用的五色词红、白、黑、黄、绿所蕴含的文化涵义进行了研究，总结了颜色词在英语中的文化内涵，以及他们在习语中的体现和表达。
