中文摘要：汉语和英语虽然结构不同，但是都存在大量的习语。在跨文化交流中，习语是语言学习及教学过程中的重难点。自上世纪70年代以来，有很多学者都对汉英之间的习语进行过对比和研究，并取得了相当不错的成绩。汉英习语的对比以及研究更是有助于我们深入了解汉英两种语言的文化和风俗。

本文探究了汉英习语的差异以及这些差异产生的原因，其中，差异产生的原因为重点探究内容。正文部分主要分为三章。第一章主要阐述汉英习语翻译的对比情况，分为宏观对比和微观对比；微观对比又分为五节：第一小节为汉英喻意相同、喻体也相同或者相似；第二小节为汉英喻意相同，喻体不同；第三小节为汉语、英语中特有的习语；第四小节为与动物有关的习语；第五小节为与数字有关的习语。第二章即分析产生如此差异的原因，此部分为重点叙写内容，主要分为六小节：历史文化背景的差异、价值观念的不同、生活方式的不同、思维模式的不同、宗教信仰的差异以及地理环境的差异。第三章为汉英习语的翻译策略，主要有四种翻译方法，分别为直译法、直译加注法、套译法和意译法。
