中文摘要：教育在一个国家的兴衰中扮演着一个不可忽视的角色。教育是立国之本、强国之基。作为影响文化软实力的重要因素，教育问题也在各国间引起了热烈讨论。西方创新式的教育方法培养出了很多优秀人才，并取得了很多国际荣誉和奖项。因此如今许多中国家长会选择送孩子出国留学，尤其是美国。不同国家和地区的人们观念和认识是不同的，中国和美国可以说是东西方文化的典型代表。中美两国由于历史背景、文化传统、政治经济等的不同，在教育背景、教育内容、教育方法、教学目标、家庭教育等方面存在差异。所以，研究一下中美基础教育的差异是非常有必要的。本文从中美文化的差异入手， 进一步分析中美基础教育的差异。进而了解两国基础教育的差异和当代和中国基础教育存在的问题，在保留中国扎实的基础知识的同时，吸取美国教育的优点。然后针对中国现有教育体系的改进和创新提供一些应对措施。并且可以更加深入了解美国的教育体系，为发展中的中国教育提供参考，使其具有实用价值。
