中文摘要：计算机技术的发展使多媒体教学全面走进了英语课堂。多媒体教学集声音、图像、视频、动画等多种媒体信息于一体作用于学生，大大提高了教学效率。科学技术的发展为英语教学提供了很多便利，也为教学方法创造了很多新的条件，丰富了教学资源。对学生来说，多媒体教学为英语学习创设了生动的语言环境，有效地激发了学生的学习兴趣、调动了学生的学习积极性。对于老师来说，多媒体教学不但弥补了教师自身不足，对教师本身也是一个挑战，教师应该提高多媒体教学的手段，以适应新时代的要求。本文通过简明阐述多媒体教学在英语教学中的应用，以及论述多媒体教学的优缺点，指出教师不能过于依赖多媒体教学，应该合理运用多媒体教学，并将多媒体教学和传统教学模式有机结合，打造高效课堂。同时，针对多媒体教学中出现的问题，得到一些启示。
