一、教材内容分析
In this unit, it mainly focuses on the theme of “School Subjects”. The choice of materials is close to students’ real life, which can arouse students’ interests and help teachers in teaching. In Grade 7, students are exposed to more subjects, such as math, Chinese, history, geography, science and so on. In the subjects above, students will certainly have their favorite subjects. The purpose of this unit is to stimulate students’ interest in subjects and provide their opportunities to communicate and understand each other. Students can learn how to talk about their preferences and give reasons. Students can learn how to arrange their study time reasonably and how to manage their own time. Besides, students can establish ideal goals according to their own interests, and learn to make plans to achieve the goals.
二、学习者特征分析
The average age of Grade 7 students is 13 years old. Most of students have a certain amount of accumulation about vocabulary and grammar. They can read simple English articles and can have simple daily oral English communication. However, a small number of students with low English level have some difficulties in learning English. This requires teachers to adopt corresponding educational methods to help students overcome difficulties according to their cognitive level.
At this stage of the students, curiosity will often attract their attention. Therefore, in classroom teaching, teachers need to adopt a variety of teaching methods to reduce students’ distraction, improve students’ classroom participation, and enhance students’ confidence in learning English.
