一、教材内容分析
This unit is the seventh unit in the first volume of Grade 8 Go for it. The main topics are predicting the future. The purpose of this unit is that to help students predict what the life will be like in the future and master more new words and phrases and some new grammar about future tense. Besides, students can acquire more knowledge about the development of technology. And they can finish the tasks in different activities then improve their language by listening, speaking, reading and writing activities. And students can cultivate the spirit of cooperation and improve their interests for learning English. Students will be more interested in learning science and technology. Through learning language, they can master the usage of will/won’t and the expression of the future tense. And students will be able to get main information by reading fast. There are also some activities to help students use their new knowledge and skills. Students will know more knowledge about robots and development of technology by reading activities. They can also organize an article with the new knowledge in writing activity.

Grade Eight students are interested in English. They are able to understand article in daily communication situations, exchange information and opinions with teachers or classmates on familiar topics. They have adapted to the teaching model of junior middle school and have mastered a certain foundation of English. Students in Grade 8 have a stronger sense of autonomy and a strong curiosity. But their attention is more easily dispersed. They need more guidance from teachers. Therefore, teachers should pay more attention to draw students’ attention in the process of teaching.
