一、教材内容分析
This unit comes from the book which is published by People’s Education Press. It takes the characteristics of people as the topic and people’s appearance and personality as an extension to learn the comparative degree.
After learning this unit, students will get more information about comparing the similarities and differences between themselves and their friends. Their listening, speaking, reading, and writing ability can also be improved. In addition, students can greatly enhance the feeling of tolerance.
The first period of this unit is connecting with previous knowledge and Introduction. The teaching type of this class is listening and speaking, which helps students make a solid foundation for the following learning process.
The second period of this unit is Grammar, where students can learn to use the comparative degree.
The next period of this unit is something about a good friend that you think should be like. The teaching type of this class is listening and speaking. After learning this period, students may learn how to takes notes while listening and learn to talk about their best friends.
The fourth period is about “Should friends be the same or different?”. The teaching type of this class is reading and writing. The main task in this class is to read the article and discuss the thoughts of the characters in the article. This period is to develop the students’ reading skills such as skimming and scanning, and to cultivate their critical thinking ability by discussion and debate. The last period of this unit is writing and Self-check. After learning this period, students may learn how to describe their friends. Students can check what they have learned in this unit.
