一、教材内容分析
This unit is from the text book which is published by People’s Education Press. The topic of this unit is food, and discussing one’s own preference is a main teaching objective. In this unit, students are going to learn sentence patterns to express their preference. They will also learn how to answer the question about the present tense to demonstrate students’ likes and dislikes, that's called Yes/No-questions and short answers. In addition, they will learn affirmative and negative statements and countable and uncountable nouns. In Section A of this unit, it is based on the vocabulary about the food, lead students to summarize the grammar. The part of Section A focuses on the initial application of the key point. However, Section B and Section A have different emphasises. This section asks students to develop students' comprehensiveness. The part of Self-check is not only to review the vocabulary and sentence patterns but also to use and apply the core point. Generally speaking, it is relevant to the students’ real life, therefore, it is easy for students to understand.
二、学习者特征分析
This lesson is prepared for Grade 7. The majority of them have contacted with the study of English. But they are not same as the kids from cities. Compared with kids from cities, their basis of foreign language is really weak. For instance, they cannot write the words correctly and normatively. They have difficulty in learning English and they don’t know how to learn English. To some extent, the teacher thinks they are lack of interest and confidence to learn a foreign language. The teacher finds that they are weak at preview, summary and make a plan. In this case, it is necessary for students to slow down the pace, meanwhile, the teacher must consider how to cultivate their good habits for learning English. Of course, teachers are also going to take measures to make them realized the charm of English.
