一、教材内容分析
The unit is the third unit of PEP education — Go for it ! used by Grade 7 students in the second semester. The topic of this unit is “how to go to a place”. It is closely related to students’ daily life. In Section A, students can learn some key words in the sentence patterns about the means of transportation. They are supposed to make conversations with their group members by using the new points so that they can talk about means of transportation correctly in their daily life. In “Grammar Focus”, students are able to use how, how long, how far to guide the special questions, used frequently in their daily life. In Section B, the listening lesson further emphasizes the usages of the means of transportation, the reading part is a letter about how Liangliang goes to school. In this part, students can master the English expressions of different means of transportation. They can know which ways students from different regions use to get to school. They are able to make reasonable means of arrangements and choose reasonable means of transportation according to their situations. In addition, students can learn some useful words and sentences through the passage in order to prepare for the writing part. And the writing task of this unit is writing an e-mail message. Students can apply the knowledge of this unit to their writing. The topic of this unit is close to students’ daily life so that they have more enthusiasm for learning, which makes them become confident to express their ideas in English as much as possible.
