一、教材内容分析
 
The topic of this unit is to talk about how to get somewhere. It is closely related to our students’ daily life. In this unit, students will learn how to describe the transportation mode of people’s daily travel, master the sentence patterns “how do you get to school?”, general present tense and special question sentences. In the section A, students are supposed to use the sentence patterns “How do you get to school?” and “How long does it take?” to talk about the mode of transportation. This part also presents the expression of time and distance in English. So students can communicate in English about “How far is it from A to B?”. The learning of Section B is carried out on the basis of Section A. The focus of this part is on reading and writing, and various activities are set for students to practice and improve their reading and writing abilities. Through the study of this unit, students can use understand the differences in transportation mode between China and the western counties. Therefore, students can have a further understanding about traffic rules and safety. This can help them develop the awareness of abiding by the traffic rules and building harmonious interpersonal relationship.
 
二、学习者特征分析
 
The seventh-grade students have just entered the junior high school and they have learned English for four years, but they show enthusiasm for English learning and fell self-confident. Most of them can realize the importance of English and give enough attention to in English learning. However, their consciousness of pre-view well in advance and review after class is week, and the review method is inefficient. Most students know little about learning strategies and they can’t use learning strategies well. So they need teachers’ help and guidance. Furthermore, teaching methods should be diversified, and classroom teaching should be lively and interesting to help students feel happy to learn. As for the students who don’t like English that much, the teacher should find out the reasons, and arouse their interest in learning.
