一、教材内容分析
This unit is the first unit of New Senior English For China Student’s Book6.With the theme of ART, this unit mainly introduces a brief history of Western painting and describes the best ART gallery in Manhattan.
This unit helps students learn more about the background knowledge of fine arts, analyze the characteristics of the major schools of Chinese and Western art history, point out their representative painters and works, and compare the Chinese and Western painting art.
The subjunctive mood is the focus of this unit.In this unit, students will be able to use the subjunctive mood flexibly,master the new structure of persuasive letter writing and learn about the differences between foreign culture and Chinese culture.
There are 5 periods in this unit.
二、学习者特征分析
After entering the second year of high school, students have a certain basis of English and language learning ability and relatively strong language perception ability , which is the advantage of English learning.However,there is a phenomenon of differentiation in students' learning.
On the one hand,some students, who have strong learning ability and strong self-control, can study independently.Teachers should give appropriate guidance to these students when they encounter bottlenecks.And it is mainly up to students to explore on their own.Let these “good students” discuss with each other and make progress together.
On the other hand,There are still a large proportion of students who are so-called average and underachievers.Their English language foundation and language development skills are relatively poor and their learning processes are impatient.Therefore, teachers should encourage students to study actively, stimulate their interest in learning.At the same time, with flexible and diverse teaching design and rich activity design, teachers encourage students to go deep into language practice, and guide them to gradually develop good learning habits through proper learning methods.
