一、教材内容分析
This unit focuses on physical geography and animals. Students can learn how to read large numbers and how to express the structure of a measure. Besides, through the reading materials, students can understand the precipitousness of Mount Qomolangma and the courage and practical spirit of human beings to overcome difficulties and challenge limits, and they will also establish the awareness of animal protection.

After entering the eighth grade, students have certain English foundation and language learning ability, and strong language perception ability, which is the advantage of English learning. On the one hand, students' motivation of learning English is higher. On the other hand, in the eighth grade, differentiation phenomenon appear on the students in the study.
